Jennifer Huber, Partner and chair of the International Trade + Transactions practice group, participated in two separate webinars earlier this month where she presented material on U.S. Trade Controls and on conducting business in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
On May 9th, Jennifer participated in a Knowledge Group webinar on U.S. Trade Controls: What You Need to Know in 2014. Jennifer presented alongside other top experts in the field of International Trade & Transactions. The panel of thought leaders and practitioners was assembled by the Knowledge Group and helped the participating firms better understand recent legal developments that impact their ability to conduct business overseas and develop sound strategies for trade controls compliance.
On May 13th, Jennifer participated in a webinar, this time focusing on conducting business in the MENA region. The webinar was organized and sponsored by the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (“VEDP”), of which FH+H is a Program Partner. It was organized for VEDP members who recently returned from a Trade Mission to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Jennifer went over the unique set of risks each region poses and the necessity to develop tailored risk mitigation strategies that account for cultural, political, and religious differences.
